The Bigger Picture

There is a bigger picture to see here than just your offendedness. God saw long ago before these things happened.

If you are ever going to be of any use in God’s Kingdom, you will either be broken, or you will be crushed.

God is using this hurt and offense to break you. If you will cooperate with Him, you can be broken and He can then make something beautiful of your life.

If you resist, then comes the crushing.

1Th 5:18  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

This Thing…”is the Will of God”…concerning you. If you belong to Him, are submitted to His Lordship, and He is directing your steps, then “this thing”; this hurt, this offense, this trauma…is the Will of God concerning you.  He has brought you to this place and “this thing” is for a purpose and you need to accept it as from Him.

Look bigger than the offense.  Expand your vision to include The Lord.  What do you see?  An Almighty Father who loves you, knows what you have need of, and is building you, working in your life to bring you to a place of maturity and fruitfulness.

He has a purpose in your life and has been working that purpose long before you were aware of it.

He was there when you were hurt.  He was there when the trial began.  He saw it as it happened and knew it was going to happen before it did. If He did not prevent it, it’s because He had already incorporated that offense or hurt into your building. It was a part of His plan for you.

Jer 1:5  Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

Jeremiah went through a fair bit of misery as a prophet. But he was able to endure it because he knew his life belonged to The Lord.  He knew Who it was all about. He knew Who was in control and Whose hand he was in.

Jeremiah was allowed to suffer (as was Daniel), but it did not embitter him as he knew it was a part of God’s greater purpose; not just in his own life,

If my suffering, past or present, furthers God’s Kingdom, then let it be. After all, I’ve been bought and paid for.
